People choose to have counselling when they find life events difficult or distressing. Such feelings might be general difficulties or they might be related to recent events such as a relationship breakdown, redundancy or the loss of a loved one. Sometimes isolation can cause loneliness and it’s easier to talk to a person you don’t know than a close friend or relative. Counselling allows time to look at what’s troubling you and might include talking about things that have happened recently and in the past.
Counselling can be short-term or longer-term and we would talk about this when we meet.
